ZELVE
Different sorts of fairy chimneys can be seen wide spread in this area. There are monastery, churches and pigeon houses in the Valley of Zelve. During the early period of Christianity the first religious seminars were given t clergy people here in Zelve.
PAŞABAĞ
Several fairy chimneys are situated here collectively.
DERİNKUYU
Derinkuyu, which is situated on the road between Nevşehir and Niğde, used to be known as Malakopea and Melengü in the former times. This town is famous for its 7-storey underground city.
KAYMAKLI
Kaymaklı, which is situated in the 20-km- south of Nevşehir, is famous for its 4-storey underground city.
THE IHLARA GORGE
The Ihlara Gorge, which is 40 km away from Aksaray, was known as Khlıara in the former times. Mt. Hasan and the River Melendiz had a great effect on the formation of the gorge. There is a big number of rock churches dated back to the Byzantian period.
Furthermore, there are loads of shelters and graves on each side. Some of the shelters and churches are connected to each other (like in the underground cities) with tunnels
